The Upcoming NHibernate Posts

Posted by Davy Brion on November 2nd, 2008

Some people asked me about the NHibernate posts i’ve got planned… so here’s a list of posts that i have in mind:

  • Exploring NHibernate Statistics, Part 2: Data Modification
  • Exploring NHibernate Statistics, Part 3: Stats On Specific Queries
  • Exploring NHibernate Statistics, Part 4: Caching
  • Getting Up To Speed With NHibernate’s 2nd Level Cache
  • User Types
  • Event Listeners
  • Result Transformers
  • Transaction Management
  • Concurrency Management
  • Components & Dynamic Components
  • Filters
  • Custom Property Accessors
  • One To Many Associations (this will probably become another post series to explore the various possibilities and their pros and cons)
  • NHibernate Search

This is just what i have in mind now… more posts can always be added, some might never get written, etc… I also have no idea whatsoever in what order they will be written or when they’ll be written for that matter :)

Also, if there are other topics you want me to cover, let me know and i might write about it :)

I’m looking forward to reading those posts!

But I have one to add, if you like :) I would love a post about many-to-many associations.
I was playing around with nHibernate, and implemented this in a simple Book-Author model, but I ran into some very silly issues with querying (fe Get books by author, or get authors for book using the Criteria API?), or adding a new book with authors that don’t exist in the datastore (can’t get the cascade option to do what it should do) …

    Thx in advance!
